Israel & Turkey holy tour itinerary
Day 1 - Flying out of NYC, USA
Day 2 - Istanbul, Turkey
Early Morning Arrival
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Depart from hotel to visit the majestic Blue Mosque, known for its interior decorations. Then visit the Hippodrome and the Yerebatan Cistern. End the day with a stroll throughthe Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest bazaars in the world. Return to hotel.
Day 3 - Istanbul - Cappadocia, Turkey
Breakfast and transfer to the airport for flight to Cappadocia. Visit the Derwent Valley, the Cavusin Valley and the ancient Greek settlement of Mustafapasa (Sinasos). Visit an underground city. These cities were built underground by Christian refugees at the time. Truly a marvel of innovation for the time. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 4 - Cappadocia, Turkey
Breakfast at hotel. Explore this fascinating region, unique for its fantastic lunar landscape with beautiful and unusual lava formations from the caused by eruptions from Mount Erciyas. Discover the Göreme Valley, an incredible Byzantine monastic complex made up of rock carved churches the rocks with beautiful frescoes, Visit The troglodyte villages of Paşabağ en Zelve, the natural fortress of Uçhisar, Ortahisar, the stone cone chimneys of Ürgüp, the town of Avanos, packed with craft and weaving centres. Return to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
(People with tickets for the sunrise balloon ride will be picked up at 4:30AM).
Day 5 - Cappadocia, Turkey - Galilee, Israel\
Morning Departure to Israel, Breakfast at the airport. Arrive to Tel Aviv and proceed to the Port of Jaffa, where Peter had a vision of the unclean animals and the location of the whale story. Visit the city of Nain near Mount Tabor if time permits. Dinner and accommodation at hotel in Galilee.
Day 6 - Beit She'an - Capernaum, Tabgha, Israel
Breakfast and early morning. Visit archeological site in Beit She'an. Take a boat trip on the sea of Galilee where Jesus walked on water and make way to the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount! We will then go to Tabgha where the multiplication of bread and fishes took place and head to Capernaum where Jesus told Peter "on this rock I will build my church!" Back to hotel and overnight.
Day 7 - River Jordan - Mount Carmel - Nazareth, Israel
Breakfast and early morning. Have a Baptism in the river Jordan, said to be where Jesus was baptized. Visit Gideon's fountain and Mount Carmel, where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal. Stop for lunch, then continue to Nazareth where the angel Gabriel told Mary she would bear a child. After we will move to the ruins Ahab where there is an archaeological site! Head to the hotel in the city of Tiberias located by the Dead Sea!
Day 8 - Jericho - Qumran - Masada - Dead Sea, Israel
Breakfast and early morning. Head towards Dead Sea region. Visit where John the Baptist was baptized, and make way to Jericho and have lunch. Explore Qumran, where the original scrolls of the Bible were found. Afterwards we will head to Masada, if time permits. End the day at the spa hotel on the Dead Sea where we will sleep one night.
Day 9- Jerusalem
Breakfast and early morning. Travel to Jerusalem, the city of peace via way of Mount Scopus. Head to Bethany, where Lazarus, Mary, and Martha used to live. Visit many famous sites in Jerusalem such as, the Mount of Olives, Gethsemane Garden, Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, City of David, and more. Head to hotel for some delicious dinner and sleep in Jerusalem.
Day 10-11 - Jerusalem, Israel
Breakfast and early morning. Have service in the tomb garden and visit the pool of Bethesda. Sleep in Jerusalem and head back home the next day.
